Cat Toy with Pool

Recently, a round cat toy in the shape of a plastic pool, which promises a fun experience for cats and has been frequently seen on social media platforms, caught our attention as well. Naturally, we decided to give it a try. We ordered the largest size and are excited to share our experiences with you.

Product Features

This cat toy comes folded and in a small size. When we first opened the package, we immediately noticed a strong plastic smell. This smell is mentioned in the product description and is said to be due to the type of plastic, indicating that it is not harmful to health. We have to believe that. Additionally, the smell decreases over time and eventually disappears. The product is initially inflated with an air pump to get it ready for use. We first tried to inflate it with our breath, but it was too large, so we used a manual air pump. The inflation process was quite simple and was completed quickly.

After inflation, the toy takes the shape of a low plastic pool. At this stage, you need to fill the inside with tap water. Since we bought the largest size pool, we had some difficulty filling it from the sink faucet.

The cats do not come into contact with the water inside the pool because the surface of the pool is also covered with transparent plastic. Various toys that attract the attention of cats have been added inside the water. These toys wiggle with the movement of the water, aiming to catch the cats' attention. When we first filled it, the toys stuck to the bottom of the pool because we didn't fill it with enough water, so they didn't move. After increasing the amount of water, this problem was solved and the objects inside the water started to move with the water.

Our Experiences

We purchased the largest size of the product, which has various size options, with a diameter of 85 cm. Although our cats, Lola and Loki, generally like to play with toys, unfortunately, this toy did not appeal to them. It initially caught their interest, but they were content just to watch from a distance. The movements of the toys in the water were not enough to excite them. When we placed them on the toy, neither of them wanted to stay on it. Lola even started shaking her paws as if her foot had touched the water. When we moved the toys inside the water, they still only watched from afar.

Conclusion

Although the round cat toy in the shape of a plastic pool looks visually appealing, it unfortunately did not appeal to our cats. Lola and Loki's lack of interest in this toy showed us that this product is not suitable for every cat. The high price and heavy promotion on social media increased our expectations, but our actual experience did not meet those expectations. If you think your cat likes playing with water or if you have a kitten, you might want to give this product a try. However, it's worth keeping your expectations reasonable. Unfortunately, this has been our most unsuccessful toy purchase to date.
